The State of Lao PDR has a goal of providing safe and stable water supply to 90% of urban areas by 2030.
City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau has dispatched a total of seven staff members to Laos for about one to three months in the financial and management sector in Laos for about one to three months.
JICA has signed agreements with the Saitama Prefectural Enterprise Bureau, Water Works Bureau, Saitama City, Kawasaki City Waterworks and Sewerage Bureau and JICA for the purpose of solving the issues in Laos based on the experience of Japanese water utilities. Based on the agreement, City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau continues to provide financial support in the fields of management and finance, centered on the three pilot water utilities in Lao Prabang Province and Kam Ain.
