Meter reading of water meter

Once every two months, the Water Works Bureau staff or a contractor will read the water meter to calculate the water rate.
Note that the meter reading date varies depending on the region.

In City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau, in an apartment house that uses a water receiving tank, intensive meter reading using a centralized meter reading device transferred from customers (building owners, etc.) is being carried out. In principle, meter reading for electricity and gas meter reading, meter readers directly read the display value of the meter installed in each house directly with their eyes (hereinafter referred to as "direct reading meter reading"). This change makes it possible to detect water leakage early.
For apartments that are currently undergoing intensive meter reading, the meter will be switched to direct reading meter reading at the time of replacement due to the expiration of the meter.
When changing the meter reading method, Water Works Bureau will contact the building manager, etc. to explain and confirm the meter reading method, so please cooperate.
In addition, centralized meter reading equipment, which is no longer needed for meter reading work, will be removed at Water Works Bureau. Please refer to the details of the removal of the centralized meter reading equipment.

• There is no electricity bill at the time of meter reading.
• At the time of meter reading, you can check the piping near the metering position for any abnormalities.
