Terms and Conditions of Water Supply Contracts

Due to the revision of the Civil Code, which came into effect on April 1, 2020, regulations on "standard provisions" will be newly established and water contracts will be applied.
The fixed terms and conditions are defined as "the sum of the provisions prepared by a specific person for the purpose of making the contents of the contract in a fixed transaction."
In Motoichi, "Yokohama-shi water supply regulations" which established conditions of water supply contract and "Yokohama-shi water supply regulations enforcement regulations" correspond to standard agreement and become contents of contract.

1.Notification of use start and cancellation of water supply

When you start using water supply newly or cancel use, please contact Water Works Bureau City Customer Service Center at least 3 days in advance when you start using or stop using the water supply.

2.Meter reading of the amount of water used

Meter reading of the amount of water used is performed once every two months. (Excluding use start and cancellation)

3.Water bill

It is calculated based on the amount of water used.
Please refer to "How water rates work" for rates.

4.Payment of water bill

You can choose to pay by direct debit, credit card, or delivery notice.
In the case of direct debit or credit card payment (excluding continuation), it takes a little time to switch from the delivery notice.

5.Suspension of water supply

(1) Nonpayment of payment

Please pay within the payment deadline. If payment is not possible despite repeated notices, water supply will be suspended in principle.

(2) Accidents and disasters

Water supply may be unavoidably stopped or restricted due to accidents or disasters.

6.Replacement of water meter

The validityWater Works Bureau City replaces water meters with a validity period of 8 years according to the Measurement Law, and before the validity period expires.

7.Ownership of water supply equipment

The water pipe from the branch of the water pipe in the road to the faucet of each household is owned (property) by the customer, so please manage it appropriately.
In addition, about repair with breakdown of water supply equipment, customer, from water meter to faucet, please request private water supply construction shop (list of water leak repair companies downstream of meter) and perform repair.
Please refer to Water Works Bureau Customer Service Center for repair of the road side from the water meter.
