- It is not eligible if water rates exceed the card usage limit.
- Due to the relationship between the credit card company's deadline and the meter reading date of City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau and other administrative circumstances, billing for this month may be delayed in the following month.
Information from City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau
At the time of application
- In the following cases, applications will not be accepted. City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau will inform you that you will not be able to handle the water supply location, the registered billing address, or the cardholder Address, and will continue with the conventional payment method.
- When multiple facilities are billed in total (group lump-sum payment)
- If the validity of the credit card cannot be confirmed
- If the contents of the application form are incomplete
- If the cardholder's Address is outside Japan
- It takes about one month to complete the procedure.
- The department in charge (045-337-0473) may contact you to confirm the details of the application.
After credit card payment starts
- Payment will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the card company.
- City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau will not issue a receipt or any other written notice of receipt.
Please check the usage statement from the credit card company. - For water charges etc. that were read before the application procedure is completed, please pay using the conventional payment method.
- If your credit card is renewed due to expiration date, etc., please apply for credit card payment again with the updated credit card.
- In the following cases, only such requests will be made directly by City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau via a delivery notice.
- If the amount charged per transaction exceeds 100,000 yen
- If credit card payment is not possible due to credit card company regulations, such as exceeding the credit card usage limit
- Other administrative reasons
- In the following cases, credit card payment will be canceled. After that, we will request the delivery notice directly from City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau.

When changing the registered credit card to another credit card (including changing the card number and renewing the expiration date)
- A new application is required.
- Until the newly applied credit card is registered, you will be charged to the current credit card. Once you have completed your new credit card registration, your billing address will automatically switch to the new credit card.

Notification to customers who have received the delivery notice (payment form) by credit card payment
In the case of credit card payment, the credit card company checks the validity / invalidity of the card, the limit, etc., performs data processing such as securing credit slots (use slots), and performs payment processing based on the results determined by the card company.
This time, a delivery notice has been sent out for the customer's card because the card company has determined that payment is not possible.
In the past, in payments through international brands (VISA/Master), even if the registered card has expired, if the billing amount is less than a certain amount, the card company does not check the validity etc. The settlement was completed without checking the validity etc. However, at the request of the card company, the effectiveness of all bills will be checked from the water charge in September 2023.
Therefore, if payment becomes impossible due to checking the validity of the card company, Water Works Bureau sends a delivery notice.
From Water Works Bureau to Customers
For customers who receive the delivery notice, please do the following.
- For this request, please pay with the delivery notice.
- Please confirm that the card information registered by the customer at the time of application has not expired.
- If the expiration date has expired, customers who wish to continue paying the card will need to apply again, so please apply. (Excluding credit cards that have direct contracts with Water Works Bureau)
