Permission to breed or contain animals

The permission system for animal breeding facilities based on the Act on Chemical Plants, etc. is for facilities that breed or house animals in residential areas.
It was enacted to prevent the occurrence of mosquitoes and flies and odors.
In Yokohama City, the following types of animals specified by a Cabinet Order are stipulated in the Kanagawa Prefecture Ordinance (the Kanagawa Prefecture Ordinance for Enforcement of the Law Concerning Manufacturing Plants, etc.).
Permission is required in advance to breed or accommodate more than the specified number.

※1 When breeding miniature hoses, ponies and mini pigs for pet purposes, permission is required even for one animal.
※2 If you breed more than 10 dogs, permission is required even for puppies.
※3 Chickens and ducks are excluded for less than 30 days.
About facilities subject to permission
In addition to business purposes such as livestock farmers, horseback riding clubs, pet shops, etc., animals that are subject to permission even if they are pets in ordinary households.
If you breed more than the number specified in the regulations, permission is required.
About micro pigs
Porks called small pigs, which have been breeded for pets, are bred indoors together with people.
Permission may not be required if there is no risk of breeding and there is no risk of environmental hygiene problems.
