About forest owner notification system

Due to the revision of the Forest Law in April 2011, those who became the owners of the forest land in Yokohama City are required to submit a report to the The Mayor of Yokohama.

Those subject to notification

Regardless of individuals or corporations, those who newly acquired land designated as "private forests subject to regional forest planning *" prescribed by the Forest Law by buying, selling, inheriting, etc. must submit a report regardless of the area. Hmm. However, those who have submitted a land transaction report based on the National Land Use Planning Act are not eligible.

※Private forests subject to regional forest planning:
 You can check the drawings at the Green Environment Bureau Parks and Green Space Management Division window.
 In addition, we can confirm in map information site "e-kana map" (outside site) of Kanagawa. ("Location map of private forests subject to regional forest planning" in "Environment" information)
 For details, please contact the Green Environment Bureau Park and Green Space Business Division.

notification period window

Within 90 days from the day you become the land owner, please notify the municipal office where the acquired land is located.

Reception date and time from 8:45 to 17:00 except Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays and New Year's holidays (December 29 to January 3).

You can also submit a report by e-mail.
registration form uses the designated form (download from the following), and attach attached documents as a PDF file.

  • Notifier
  • Address and name of the previous owner
  • Date of ownership
  • Location and area of land
  • Land use

※ The notification destination (the part of "Municipal mayor" in the upper left of registration form) should be "The Mayor of Yokohama".

2.attached documents

  • Certificate of entry (copy is also acceptable)
    Or a copy of a document that shows that you have acquired the rights, such as a land sales contract.
  • Drawing showing the location of the land
