About forest owner notification system

Due to the revision of the Forest Law in April 2011, those who became owners of forest land in Yokohama City after April 2012 are required to notify the The Mayor of Yokohama.

Notified persons

Regardless of individuals or corporations, those who newly acquired land designated as "private forests subject to regional forest planning *" prescribed by the Forest Law by buying, selling, inheriting, etc. must submit a report regardless of the area. Hmm. However, those who have submitted a land transaction report based on the National Land Use Planning Act are not eligible.

※Private forests subject to regional forest planning:
 You can check the drawings at the Green Environment Bureau Parks and Green Space Management Division window.
 In addition, we can confirm in map information site "e-kana map" (outside site) of Kanagawa. (“Private Forest Location Map subject to Regional Forest Plan” in “Environment” information)

notification period window

Within 90 days from the day you become the land owner, please notify the municipal office where the acquired land is located.

registration form should use the designated form (download below) and attached documents should be attached as a PDF file.

  • Date of ownership
  • Location and area of land

※ The notification address (the part of "Municipal Mayors" at the top left of registration form) should be "The Mayor of Yokohama".

2.attached documents

  • Certificate of entry (a copy is also acceptable)
    Or a copy of documents that show that you have acquired the rights, such as a land sales contract.
  • Drawing showing the location of the land
