About smoking cessation of park of Yokohama-shi (※ opinion offer was finished)

　In Yokohama City, in the "Yokohama City Medium-Term Plan 2022-2025", we are promoting "Yokohama, a town that nurtures the next generation who has raised children" as a basic strategy. In order to secure the environment, we would like to take the initiative in passive smoking measures. In parks in Yokohama City, zoos and pools have been banned from smoking, and posters have been posted for those who smoke so that they do not smoke in places where children are, such as near playground equipment.
　This time, in the park, from the call for consideration currently being taken, in the Yokohama City Park Ordinance, "smoking" was added as a prohibited act in the park as an approach to passive smoking measures, and "no smoking in the park" was examined. We are.

We made the following efforts in the study.

• Questionnaire about passive smoking measures in park (conducted from July to August, 2023)
• "No smoking" (conducted from October 14 to November 19, 2023) by trial at 5 parks in the city as a trial of passive smoking measures in the park

In the "Yokohama City Medium-Term Plan 2022-2025", in order to secure an environment where children can play safely and with peace of mind, aiming at "Yokohama, a town that nurtures the next generation of children who have raised children together", the addition of "smoking" as a prohibited act in the park has been compiled as a direction for passive smoking measures in parks.
