About trial conduct result that made 5 parks in the city as "non-smoking" as trial of passive smoking measures in park

During the following period in 5 parks in the city, we decided to "smoking" by trial as a passive smoking measure.
In addition, as we carried out questionnaire survey for park user during period to refer as opinion in future passive smoking measures conduct, we report result. Thank you very much for your cooperation in the questionnaire.

Results of Implementation

1 Trial content of measures for passive smoking

From Saturday, October 14, 2023 to Sunday, November 19,

Yamashita Park (Naka Ward), Harbor View Park (Minato-no-Mieru Oka Koen) (Naka Ward), Children's Nature Park (Asahi Ward), Fujigaoka Ekimae Park (Aoba Ward), Tennocho Ekimae Park (Hodogaya Ward)

(3)　Implementation method

Posted a sign for smoking cessation in the park and surveyed the number of smokers before and during trials.

(4)　Survey of the number of smokers before and after trials (surveyed over two days on weekdays and holidays)

A. Survey date

　Before trial: Friday, October 6 and Saturday, 7th
　During trial: Thursday, October 26 and Saturday, 28th

B. Survey Results

・At Fujigaoka Ekimae Park and Tennocho Ekimae Park located in front of the station, there was a certain number of smoking.
・At Tennocho Ekimae Park, the number of smokers during trials has been significantly reduced. It is presumed that there was a certain effect of promoting smoking cessation.

・Regarding the question "Have you felt annoying when using the park?", 50% of Fujigaoka Ekimae Park answered "Afrequently" and "I sometimes there" was a high percentage at Fujigaoka Ekimae Park. The result exceeded. In the Children's Nature Park, where there are few smokers, the percentage of respondents answered "C almost no" and "E no" exceeded 80%.
