Yokohama City Smoking Prohibition Area Map (Google Map)


【2024.3.1】 Smoking area map (Google Map) has been released.
Public smoking areas and smoking prohibited areas in the city can now be confirmed from two-dimensional barcodes (outside site).
When searching for the route from your current location to the nearest smoking area, permission to obtain location information is required.
※The location information may differ depending on the model you use.

What is the Smoking Prohibition Area?

In Motoichi, based on "the regulations about prevention of scattering such as empty cans of Yokohama-shi and butts".
To prevent burns and burnt scorched from lit cigarettes and to prevent littering of butts.
In the city, the area around busy stations and downtown areas are designated as smoking-free areas.
Currently, Yokohama Station, Minato Mirai 21 district, Kannai-District, Tsurumi Station area.
Higashi-Kannagawa Station area, around Shin-Yokohama Station, Totsuka Station area, Futamatagawa Station area
8 districts have been designated as smoking prohibited areas.
Smoking is not allowed in outdoor public places in smoking prohibited areas.
(In this case, "smoking" means in addition to "smoking".
It also includes "having a lit cigarette." )
In the smoking prohibited area, "instructors such as smoking prohibited areas" who are city officials patrol and visit.
Anyone who asks smokers to stop smoking and violates efforts in the smoking-free area will be subject to penalties (2,000 yen fine).
※Instructors such as smoking prohibited areas must wear uniforms and present the "Yokohama City Staff Card" or "Beautification Promotion Member Card".

Handling of heated tobacco in smoking prohibited areas

Heated tobacco is included in manufactured tobacco under the Tobacco Business Law (those subject to tobacco tax) under the Tobacco Business Law, so it is subject to fines because it is a smoking act stipulated in the ordinance.
If you smoke heated tobacco in a smoking-free area, please smoke in a smoking area.
