From April 2021, we will partially change the postpartum mother and child care business (short stay day care) so that those who give birth and child care in Yokohama can raise children with peace of mind.
Enhanced support for those who gave birth to twins and triplets
- Short stays (accommodation type) can be used for up to 7 days (6 nights and 7 days), and multi-fetal families can now use it for up to 14 days (13 nights and 14 days).
Enhanced support for preterm births (those who gave birth less than 37 weeks of gestational age)
- Normally, it is intended for less than 4 months after birth, but in the case of premature babies, it can be used up to less than 4 months at the correct age (from the expected date of delivery to less than 4 months).

Target for use
Applicable to mothers and babies who meet all of the following conditions.
Public health nurses and midwives at the ward office where you live in advance ask any concerns during interviews and home visits, etc., and the ward office will adjust the usage.
・Those who have Address in Yokohama City and are less than 4 months after birth (for preterm infants are less than 4 months based on the expected date of birth)
・Those who have physical and mental upsets or concerns about raising children after childbirth
・Those who do not have a disease under treatment for both mothers and children when using the service (*)
※If you are only going to hospital, you may be able to use it, so please consult us.
◆However, please note that you will not be able to use it if any of the following applies.
・If either mother and child has an infectious disease (measles, rubella, flu, etc.)
・When either mother and child needs hospital treatment
・If the mother has a physical or mental upset or illness and needs medical intervention (however, this does not apply if the doctor determines that it is possible to respond in the postpartum maternal and child care business.)

Public health nurses and midwives of the ward office will continue to provide consultation on child care after use.

・This service is not available for those who need hospital treatment. After confirming the physical condition of the mother and child after childbirth, the ward office will make a decision.
・For cancellation, it is necessary to contact the planned facility and the ward office by 17:00 two days before the use date. If you do not contact us, you will be charged a fee.
Precautions for Use
- Interviews with public health nurses, midwives, maternal and child health coordinators at the ward office Children and Families Support Division is required in advance.
- At the time of consultation, it is not a guarantee of use. After giving birth, we have you apply for use, and ward office confirms physical condition of mother and baby, and adjusts use with use facility.
- If you change the schedule or cancel (cancel) after the use is decided, a cancellation fee may be charged.
- Please note that we may not be able to meet your request regarding the facilities used and the date and time of use depending on the availability of Bet.
- After use, public health nurses, midwives, etc. of the ward office may ask you about the situation after that. If you have any concerns, please contact the ward office.
Application method and flow to use
・Applications can be accepted at the ward office Children and Families Support Division where you live after giving birth. (Reception hours: 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
・Consultation on use is possible during pregnancy. If you are consulting during pregnancy, please contact your ward office Children and Families Support Division from pregnancy to around 37 weeks after pregnancy.
・We will check the status of childcare and the health status of mothers and children after childbirth, and send you a notice of use decision (non-determined).
