[Notice] Regarding the end of application for subsidies for prenatal PCR testing and other projects for pregnant women with anxiety under the COVID-19 pandemic (published on March 11, 2024)

Regarding the grant application for receiving tests such as PCR tests at medical institutions outside Yokohama City, the application for grants has been closed on March 8, 2024.

 Business such as prenatal PCR testing for pregnant women who have anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic has been terminated with the transition to Class 5 infectious diseases.
 "Inspection to be subsidized" and "final application deadline for grant" are as follows. If the deadline for submitting the grant application has passed, you will not be able to subsidize, so please apply as soon as possible.

Prenatal PCR test, etc. for pregnant women with anxiety

For pregnant women living with anxiety about the new coronavirus infection, consult with your family obstetrician and gynecologist and provide an opportunity to undergo a PCR test for the new coronavirus before delivery if they wish. And subsidize the cost.
From April 1, 2023, the grant fee will be changed as follows depending on the test date such as PCR tests.
①Regarding the amount of the subsidy until March 31, 2023, the maximum amount paid by yourself or 20,000 yen, and the amount is small.               I will support the amount not. (It is not eligible for subsidies other than examination costs such as initial consultation fees.)
②Regarding the subsidy amount after the examination consultation date is April 1, 2023 or later, we will subsidize the amount with a small amount of money, up to the full amount paid by yourself or 9,000 yen. (It is not eligible for subsidies other than examination costs such as initial consultation fees.)
Please note that the forms such as applications will also be changed with the change in the grant amount.
There is no change in the contents of the system and procedures as of fiscal 2022.

When taking a PCR test, etc. at a medical institution in Yokohama

Pregnant women do not have to pay for testing. Yokohama City pays the examination fee directly to the medical institution that outsources the test. For more information, please contact your local obstetrician/gynecologist.

Those subject to inspection

Pregnant women who meet all of the following 1 to 5 are eligible.
①Pregnant women who have resident registration in Yokohama City or have actual living conditions (including pregnant women living in the city for returning home and giving birth)
②Can be tested at a medical institution in Yokohama.
③No symptoms suspected of infection such as fever at the time of examination
④I have a strong anxiety about COVID-19
⑤You have agreed to all the instructions given by your family Obstetrics and gynaecology (family doctor) in advance.

Date of inspection

Approximately 2 weeks before the expected date of delivery. However, the timing of the test may be adjusted according to the situation of each pregnant woman, such as premature birth risk. Please consult with family doctor for a specific schedule.

Location of the inspection

Please take a test at your own family medical institution.
When we do not carry out examination in family medical institution, Yokohama-shi refers to other medical institution.
In that case, please consult your family obstetrician and gynecologist first. We do not accept direct applications from pregnant women to Yokohama City.

When taking a PCR test, etc. at a medical institution outside Yokohama City

If you take a PCR test such as a PCR test at a medical institution outside Yokohama City for homecoming births, etc., Yokohama City will subsidize the cost of the test.

Subject to grant

PCR tests, etc. conducted between July 1, 2020 and September 30, 2023.
New coronavirus infection test (PCR test for new coronavirus using nasopharyngeal wipe or saliva, LAMP test and antigen quantitative test) that are eligible for the cost subsidy.
※It does not include antigen tests and nasal specimen tests using a simple kit.
※Even if there are no symptoms of suspected infection, such as fever, administrative examinations are conducted for close contacts, etc., and the doctor deems it necessary for the examination of patients, and tests that are covered by the employee health insurance are not covered.

Target person

Pregnant women who fall under all of the following 1 to 5
①Those who have resident registration in Yokohama on the day of the inspection
②Those who have undergone a test at a medical institution outside Yokohama City
③Those who have paid the entire inspection cost
④Those who do not have symptoms suspected of fever of COVID-19 infection
⑤As a general rule, those who have received explanations from the medical institution that will be tested and have agreed to the items in the manual
※Those who have been subsidized by other local governments, such as returning home, are not eligible.
※There is a living situation in Yokohama City, and those who have taken the examination at city medical institutions from July 1 to September 28, 2020, and who have paid the full amount of the expenses themselves are also eligible.

 (2) Cover (copy) of the Maternal and Child Health Handbook
 (3) Original receipt issued by the medical institution that conducted PCR tests, etc.
 (The name of the grantee, the full amount of the test cost, the date of the examination, the name of the medical institution, etc. are required.)
 ※In principle, the original receipt will not be returned. If return is required, please enclose a document stating that you wish to return it. We will return the stamp after seal.
 (4) Documents (copy) that allows you to confirm the account of the financial institution to which the transfer destination

3 Application deadline

 March 8, 2024 (postmark valid on the day)
 If you do not submit the application by the deadline, you will not be able to pay at all. Please apply with plenty of time.

4 Payment Date


 After receiving the application form, we will send you a decision to grant or non-grant by mail within one month to one and a half months. After that, in the case of a grant decision, the grant will be transferred to the applicant's designated financial account.
