Yokohama City Library Vision

In March 2024, with a view to medium- to long-term social changes in society with a view to 10 to 20 years from now, it was formulated as an indication of the future library's “target” and “direction of initiatives”.
We position as individual administrative policy about library and promote integrally while planning consistency about part related to medium-term plan, financial vision, education vision, education promotion basic plan, Yokohama citizen book-reading activity promotion plan, etc. . (The design was redesigned in May 2024.)

Based on the current situation and issues of Yokohama City Library, the opinions and case studies of citizens who had at citizen workshops, etc., we formulated the Yokohama City Library Vision (draft). We raise opinions of citizen's all of you to hear voice of citizen's all of you about draft.

Based on opinions from the citizens who had, we will devise and announce the Yokohama City Library Vision by the end of the fiscal year in the future.

In each of the following facilities, you can see the Yokohama City Library Vision (draft) booklet version. We do not distribute booklet versions.

In Yokohama-shi, we investigate and examine the way of library as place where all citizens including child care generation can spend comfortably and devise library vision (tentative name). Yokohama City conducted a citizen questionnaire in FY2022 to improve services and understand the actual conditions of City Library. The results of the questionnaire will be used as a reference for future library initiatives.
