"Non-licensed childcare facilities, etc." on this page means "non-licensed childcare facilities, etc."
①Notified non-approved childcare facilities (including babysitters), 2 Temporary childcare, 3 Sick childcare business, 4 Infant temporary custody business, 5 Yokohama childcare support system (excluding pick-up only), 6 company-led childcare business (regional frame) , 7 Yokohama nursery rooms, etc. (3-5 year old class, or municipal tax-exempt households in the 0-2 year old class).
If you receive a benefit certification from Yokohama City, you can receive free benefits for early childhood education and childcare (hereinafter referred to as "free benefits") for usage fees for unlicensed childcare facilities. To receive this benefit, you need to follow the steps below.

[Step1 Certification]

In order for those who use unlicensed childcare facilities, etc. to receive free benefits, it is necessary to receive free benefits.
It is necessary to receive a facility use benefit certification (hereinafter referred to as “benefit certification”) in advance.
Please check the application guide and submit required documents to your ward office Children and Families Support Division.
Please note that you will not be able to receive benefits certification retroactively before the date of receipt of your application.
(The application acceptance date is the date on which the application was received at the ward office.)


1 Those who are eligible for certification application

If you meet all of the following and receive benefits certification from Yokohama City, you will be eligible for free benefits.

  • Not in a nursery school (* 1)
  • Meet Yokohama City's "certification criteria for the need for childcare"
  • Children from the 3-year-old class to the 5-year-old class or children from the 0-year-old class to the 2-year-old class exempt from municipal tax (* 2)

※1 Kindergartens and certified children's schools that carry out custody childcare above a certain standard (8 hours on weekdays and 200 days a year), such as licensed nursery schools, Yokohama Nursery Room (0-2 year old class), year-limited childcare business, company-led childcare business Type childcare business (employee frame)

※2 Includes tax-exempt persons when unmarried single parents are deemed to be widows, etc., protected under the Public Assistance Act, and foster parents under the Child Welfare Law

※Attention※

In many cases, childcare at home is possible during childcare leave, so in principle, you cannot receive benefits certification. However, from the perspective of child welfare, if all of the following requirements are met, or if elementary school student, who uses community-based childcare services, wishes to continue using childcare leave after graduation, the benefits may be granted.

About seal such as employment certificate

In Motoichi, signatures and seal are not required for employment certificates, etc., and only registered names are required.

In addition, when creating or modifying a work certificate with the name of the company without permission, the benefit certification may be canceled assuming that the application contents are false.
In this case, each offense may be established if it is deemed to fall under the composition requirements of the offense of fake private documents in a seal, alteration of private documents in a seal, or unauthorized creation of private electromagnetic records.
