1 Overview
From the perspective of the importance of early childhood education that cultivates the basics of lifelong personality formation and measures to reduce the burden of child care and education, children in the 3-year-old class to 5-year-old class and 0-year-old households exempt from municipal tax. From October 1, 2019, we have been providing free early childhood education and childcare for children in the class to the 2-year-old class.

What are non-approved childcare facilities, temporary childcare services, etc.: Non-licensed childcare facilities (including babysitters), temporary custody business, sick child, post-sick childcare business, Yokohama child care support system (excluding the use of pick-up only), Yokohama childcare room (3-5 year old class) etc.
(Note 1) It is necessary to certify the necessity of childcare for free of charge.
(Note 2) Monthly Upper limit: 450 yen x number of days of use (maximum 11,300 yen (16,300 yen for 3-year-olds))

Free of charge for children aged 3 to 5 years.
When used in conjunction with kindergartens, nursery schools, certified children's schools, etc., it is also eligible for free of charge
Facilities for children with disabilities: Establishments that provide support for the development of elementary school studenｔ, medical-type elementary school studenｔ development support, home-based elementary school studenｔ development support and visits to daycare centers, facilities for children with disabilities and medical facilities for children with disabilities

Free of charge for children in households exempt from municipal tax in 0 to 2 years old
The 3-5 year old class is treated as an unlicensed childcare facility, and the usage fee is free up to 37,000 yen per month.

Free of charge for 1.2-year-old children in households exempt from municipal tax.

Free standard usage fees for children in the 3-5 year old class and 0-2 year old class in households exempt from municipal tax.

In order to receive free benefits for early childhood education and childcare, it is necessary to certify the use benefits such as facilities.

Gardens, facilities, businesses that do not require parental requests
- Authorized nursery school
- Educational parts such as kindergartens and certified children's schools
- City-type custody childcare part carried out by kindergartens and certified children's schools
- Tax exemption for households aged 0 to 2 years old who use the Yokohama Nursery Room
- Reduction of municipal tax-exempt households in 1.2-year-old class using the annual childcare business
- Yokohama City temporary childcare business, holiday temporary childcare business, 24-hour emergency temporary childcare business.
- Reduction of taxes for sick children and post-sick child care services
(Note) If you are using a company-led childcare business, please contact the school you are attending. (Request to the city is not required.)
