In Yokohama City, we are working to improve the facilities and operation of polling places with the aim of creating an environment where everyone can easily vote so that all voters who have come to vote can vote safely and safely.

For people with physical disabilities

Proxy voting

If it is difficult to fill out the ballot by yourself due to illness, injury, disability, etc., there is a "proxy voting" system in which the staff at the polling place fills out the ballot on behalf of the ballot and votes. . Voting secrets are kept strictly, so if you wish, please contact the polling place staff.

However, it is limited to those who can indicate the name of the candidate or political party you want to vote for. In addition, companion family members cannot write on the ballot.

  2. It is also possible to take a picture of the completed card with a smartphone, etc., and show the screen at the polling place.
  3. This card can be used only at polling places in Yokohama city.
  4. It is not a card to ask who to vote, so please do not write the candidate name or political party name.
  5. Please note that we may not be able to respond depending on the content of the support.

If you are blind, you can vote in Braille. If you are going to vote in Braille, you can ask the staff and we will give you a ballot for Braille only.
In addition, notices such as Braille devices and names (lists of candidate names and political party names in Braille) are also available.

Auxiliary equipment for filling out ballot papers

For those who do not clearly see the frame for entering the candidate name, etc., we have prepared a case with a frame so that you can see where the entry field is.
Only the part of the frame to be filled out is cut out, so if you insert a ballot between the cases and touch the surface by hand, you can see the position to be filled out.

If necessary, we will set the ballot paper into the case and take it out of the case, so if you wish, please contact the polling place staff.

"Voting Information" with Braille stickers

Attach a Braille sticker of "date, type of election, polling place, contact information" to those who wish so that "guidance of voting" can be understood as information of the election, and mail it. If you wish, please apply to the Election Commission.
