About Hib Vaccinations

About regular inoculation of five kinds of mixed vaccine (after April 1, 2024)

From April 1, 2024, five kinds of mixed vaccine which added hibu vaccine to conventional four kinds of mixed vaccine were targeted for periodical inoculation. For the time being, four kinds of mixed vaccines and hibu vaccine can also be inoculated. We will also inform you in individual notices (pre-examination vouchers) sent after April 2024.
In addition, child who has already started inoculation with four kinds of mixed vaccine and hibu vaccine will inoculate the remaining inoculation with the same vaccine (four kinds of mixed vaccine and hibu vaccine) in principle.
Please confirm "about five kinds of mixture (four kinds mixture) Vaccinations" about inoculation of five kinds of mixed vaccine.

What is Hib Infectious Disease?

Haemophilus influenzae, especially type b (Hib), can cause serious systemic infections such as otitis media, sinusitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia, as well as serious systemic infections such as meningitis, sepsis, larynx, and pneumonia.
Before 2010, meningitis due to Hib was estimated to be 7.1 to 8.3 per 100,000 people under the age of 5, and about 400 people develop annually in Japan, and about 11% were estimated to have a poor prognosis (*) . baby/infant was between 4 months and 1 year old.

How to Vaccinations

The Vaccinations of Hib is performed by the following method for each age at which initial vaccinations is started.
The method of 1 is the standard inoculation method.

1.[Standard Schedule]
When inoculation is started within 2 months to less than 7 months after birth
We inoculate three times at intervals of 27 to 56 days (20 days if doctor deems it particularly necessary), and booster shot once every 7 to 13 months after the third vaccination.
※The second and third inoculations are performed by less than 12 months after birth.
(If you are older than 12 months old, booster shot will be performed only once at intervals of 27 days or more after the end of initial vaccinations.)

2.[When out of the standard schedule]
(a) When inoculation is started from 7 months to less than 12 months after birth
We inoculate twice at intervals of 27 to 56 days (20 days if doctor deems it particularly necessary), and booster shot once every 7 to 13 months after the second vaccination.
※The second vaccination is performed by less than 12 months after birth.
(If you are older than 12 months old, booster shot will be performed only once at intervals of 27 days or more after the end of initial vaccinations.)

(b) When inoculation starts between 12 months and under 5 years old
I'll give you a vaccination once. (The first pre-examination card is used for the first time.)

2 months or older and less than 5 years old (until the day before the 5th birthday)

Side reaction of vaccine

Side reactions may include redness (redness), swelling (swelling), induration (lumps), pain, discomfort, insomnia, insomnia, anorexia, diarrhea, and fever at the site of inoculation.
