Shinko Wharf

Construction started in Meiji 32 (1899) and completed in 1917. Despite the Great Kanto Earthquake, it is the only wharf that preserves historical structures such as Akarengasoko and hammerhead cranes. At present, the redevelopment of the Minato Mirai 21 Shinko area, facilities such as Kisha-Michi Promenade and Akarengasoko have been developed. In addition, in October 2019, Yokohama Marine Disaster Prevention Facilities of the Japan Coast Guard and in 2019, Yokohama Hammerhead (Shinko Wharf Passenger Terminal), which combines commercial facilities and hotels, opened as a new cruise base.
