Daikoku Wharf is the first full-fledged island-style wharf in Yokohama Port, which was reclaimed and maintained from 1971 to 1990 in order to respond to the increase in cargo entering and leaving sea and containerization. A total of 25 Bath (total length: 5,250m) has been maintained, including container Bath and Liner Bath.
The Yokohama Port Distribution Center (Y-CC) (total floor area of approximately 320,000 m2), which was recognized as the first comprehensive tax-reservation area in eastern Japan and opened in August 1996, is one of the largest logistics facilities in Japan. As a major distribution hub in the Tokyo metropolitan area, it plays a major role in strengthening the logistics function of Yokohama Port and revitalizing the Minato economy. In April 2004, National Route 357 Yokohama Bay Bridge Section (Honmaki Wharf-Daikoku Wharf) was opened, and access to Honmoku Wharf and Minami Honmoku Wharf increased dramatically. As a result, along with the Metropolitan Expressway, where the interchange is located in the wharf, the road network to the back area of Yokohama Port has been strengthened, making it a highly convenient logistics base.
In order to respond to the handling of completed vehicles such as passenger cars and trucks, which are major export items of Yokohama Port, as well as large-scale construction machinery, Daikoku Wharf is moving forward with a shift from container Bath to a dedicated car carrier Bath, including RO/RO ships.
In Reiwa 4 (2022), the maintenance of P3, T3 to 8 was completed, making it possible to simultaneously shore five large vehicles and 11 wharfs on the entire wharf with a continuous 1,400m quay, the largest in Japan. Was.
On the other hand, Daikoku Wharf also supports the acceptance of large passenger ships that cannot pass through Yokohama Bay Bridge.
In the wharf, there are also a passenger ship terminal, a welfare facility for port workers such as the Daikoku Wharf Central Green Space with one baseball field, one multipurpose ground, four tennis courts, and the Daikoku Sea Zuri Facility. .
