Minami-Honmoku Futo
Minami Honmoku Wharf is a state-of-the-art wharf capable of responding to increasing container handling cargo and containerships, and construction has been underway since 1990 as a new comprehensive logistics base capable of responding to changes in logistics forms.
The MC-1 and MC-2 terminals started operation in April 2001, and can be used as a continuous quay with a depth of 16m and an extension of 700m (350m x 2). In October 2006, the site for container terminals was expanded (5.4ha).
MC-3 started maintenance in January 2007, and started operation in April 2015. In addition, MC-4 started maintenance in November 2013, and started operation in August 2020. As a result, MC-3 and 4 terminals are the largest and only in Japan with a continuous quay with a depth of 18m and an extension of 900m and a 24-row gantry crane, making it a high-standard container terminal capable of handling the world's largest container ships. From April 2021, the Minamihonmoku Pier Container Terminal will be integrated with all MC-1 to 4 terminals, making it possible to flexibly use the entire facility and maximize the high-standard facility capacity to respond to ship types and schedules on various routes.
On the other hand, behind container terminals, we are developing comprehensive logistics bases equipped with logistics warehouses, distribution service bases, and complex logistics terminals. Partial sale of landfills started in September 2003, and nine companies are currently operating. In addition, as access to Minami Honmoku Wharf, in addition to Minami Honmoku Ohashi, which connects National Route 357, the Minami Honmoku Hama Road and the Metropolitan Taka Wangansen Minami Honmoku Wharf Entrance started operation in March 2017, The communication with the Metropolitan Expressway Wangansen and Honmoku Futo, which form a wide area arterial road network, is being strengthened. In addition, Minami Honmoku Wharf is also used as a place to accept public construction soil and waste generated from public works in Yokohama City. In order to secure a stable waste disposal site over the long term, we established a new landfill in Block 5 and started accepting waste from fiscal 2018.
