Minami-Honmaki Wharf is a state-of-the-art wharf that can accommodate the increasing size of container handling cargo and container ships, and construction has been underway since 1990 as a new comprehensive logistics base capable of responding to changes in logistics forms. Was.
MC-1 and MC-2 terminals started operation in April 2001 and can be used as continuous quays with a depth of 16m and 700m (350m x 2) continuous quay. In October 2006, we expanded the site of container terminal (5.4ha) in October 2006.
MC-3 began maintenance in January 2007, and started operation in April 2015 (2015). In addition, MC-4 began maintenance in November 2013, and commenced operation in August 2020 (2020). As a result, MC-3 and 4 terminals have become the world's largest and only continuous quay with a water depth of 18 meters and a length of 900 meters and a gantry crane for 24 rows, making it a high-standard container terminal capable of handling the world's largest container vessels. From April 2021, the Minami-Honmaki Wharf Container Terminal will start integrated use of all MC-1 to 4 terminals, making it possible to flexibly use the entire facility to maximize its high-standard facility capabilities, and respond to ship types and schedules on various routes.
On the other hand, behind the container terminal, we are developing a comprehensive logistics base with logistics warehouses, distribution service bases, and complex logistics terminals. The sale of a part of landfill sites began in September 2003, and nine companies are currently in operation. Furthermore, as access to the Minamihonmoku Bridge, which connects National Route 357, Minamihonmoku Hama Road and the Metropolitan High Wangansen Minamihonmoku Pier will be put into service in March 2017 (2017). Communication with the capital high Wangansen and Honmaki Futo, which form a wide-area arterial road network, is being strengthened. In addition, Minamihonmoku Pier is also used as a place to accept public construction soil and waste generated from public works in Yokohama. In order to secure a long-term stable waste disposal site, we have established a new landfill in Block 5 and started accepting waste in FY2018.
