Honmoku-Futo
Honmaki Wharf is a wharf that began landfill in 1963 and completed in 1970.
It has played a central role in Yokohama Port for many years, responding to a wide range of cargo handling, ranging from conventional and RO/RO vessels to full container vessels.
In order to cope with the larger size of containerships and the increase in container cargo, we have reclaimed land between B and C jetty, and commenced full-scale operation of the BC container terminal in December 2005. This BC container terminal is operated as the main container terminal at Honmoku Pier, such as by managing and operating the quay and terminal in an integrated and efficient manner, promoting the centralization of container cargo.
In addition, we are working to strengthen the functions of the terminal for D jetty and to improve the efficiency of container cargo handling. The container terminals of D4 in September 2014, and D1 container terminals have been redeveloped and re-service in July 2019 (2019).
On the other hand, in order to expand and retain container cargo handling volume at Yokohama Port, we are developing new logistics bases to further strengthen our logistics functions.
Honmoku Wharf will continue to be an important logistics base and will handle a wide range of import and export cargoes.
