Honmoku-Futo
Honmoku Wharf is a wharf that started landfilling in 1963 and completed in 1970.
Over the years, Yokohama Port has played a central role in handling a wide range of cargo handling from conventional ships, RO/RO ships to full-container ships.
In order to cope with the increase in containerships and the increase in container cargo, we reclaimed B and C jettys and started full operation as a BC container terminal in December 2005. The BC Container Terminal operates as the main container terminal of Honmoku Wharf, such as managing and operating the quay and terminal in an integrated and efficient manner and promoting the concentration of container cargo.
In addition, we are strengthening the functions of the terminal for D jetty to prevent aging of facilities and to improve the efficiency of container cargo handling. Each container terminal of D4 in September 2014 and D1 in July 2019 after redevelopment, started re-service.
On the other hand, in order to expand and retain container cargo handling volume at Yokohama Port, we are developing new logistics bases to further strengthen our logistics functions.
Honmoku Wharf, which handles approximately 50% of the container handling volume at Yokohama Port, will continue to be an important logistics base and will continue to handle a variety of import and export goods.
