　On July 20, a street campaign for the "Activity to Brighten Society" aiming for a society without delinquency and crime was held around Higashi-Kannagawa Station. The Movement to Brighten Society is designed to deepen the understanding of the prevention of crime and delinquency and the recovery of those who have made mistakes, work together in each position, and build a safe and secure community without crime and delinquency. It is a nationwide exercise.
　The street campaign is hosted by the Kanagawa Presidency (Chairman Kazuyoshi Yamamoto), and about 70 people from 12 groups, including the Kanagawa Rehabilitation Women's Association and the Consumer Affairs Committee Children's Committee, participated. Called for the importance of watching over rehabilitation in the community for the purpose of preventing recidivism.

　Probation officers take advantage of the fact that they are familiar with the local situation and cooperate with probation officers to conduct probationers, and those who have committed crimes and delinquencies from penal institutions and juvenile training schools. 　It is said that rehabilitation protection is carried out in the community, so it is necessary to understand the circumstances of the local community surrounding the target person. Each of the protection officer who has a strong social reputation for personality and behavior is engaged in activities with enthusiasm.
　In addition, the Rehabilitation Women's Association conducts educational activities to prevent crime and delinquency in the local community, conduct educational activities to promote the healthy development of young people, and engage in rehabilitation activities in various ways.
　In recent years, the activities of the protection host have been particularly focused on drug abuse prevention. We carry out PR using simulated drug sets in inhabitant of a ward festival and enlightenment activity about prevention of drug abuse in school in ward.
　Social understanding and acceptance is very important to prevent the recurrence of crime. I think that the activities of probation officers that support the public volunteer system that assists rehabilitation, such as probation, living environment adjustment, and crime prevention activities, are important initiatives that are indispensable for creating a bright and crime-free society.
　From June of last year, the "Partial sentence suspension system" was enforced. I have heard that it is intended to rehabilitate those who committed drug crimes in the real world and prevent recidivism. I believe that the need for probation will increase and the importance of the activities of the protection moderator and the Rehabilitation Women's Association will increase.
　Many of the protection officers and the Rehabilitation Women's Association are responsible for local activities, such as the chairman of the town, the local welfare officer, and the children's committee.
