What kind of benefits are the Special Disability Allowance?
Last Updated October 27, 2021
This is an allowance for those aged 20 and over who have severe mental or physical disabilities and need special care at all times in their daily lives.
Target person
Target person is person with a disability at home 20 years or older who needs special care at all times. (Example: those who have two or more severe disabilities)
There is a review of this allowance. In addition, there is an income limit for the person and his / her family, and depending on the amount of income, benefits may not be paid. I check my income around August every year.
In addition, if you enter a facility or stay in the hospital for more than three months, you will not be eligible.
For more information, please contact Health and Welfare Center in your district.

The amount of the allowance is 27,350 yen per month (as of April R3).
Payment will be made in February, May, August, and November.
