Is there any subsidy for people with disabilities to remodel cars?

In order to promote the social participation of persons with disabilities, we will support up to 200,000 yen for remodeling of steering wheels, brakes, accelerators, transfer devices, wheelchair storage devices, etc. of vehicles, small cars and light motor vehicles.

[Private driving] Those who have been issued a certificate of the physically disabled for the first to third grade of physical disability and need to remodel a part of the car owned by themselves or their families and drive by themselves (Limited conditions on driver's license May be required).
[Carers driving] Those who have a 1st to 3rd grade lower limb or trunk dysfunction certificate (excluding those aged 65 or older who have acquired the certificate) and those in same household who need to remodel some of the cars used to move the disabled.
[Common] It has been more than 5 years since the last application. The income taxable income of the highest income earner of the household to which the disabled person belongs does not exceed the income limit of the special disability allowance.

[Remodeling] Subsidies are provided for the cost required for remodeling, up to 200,000 yen for tax-exempt households and 180,000 yen for taxable households.
Purchase of welfare vehicles For the difference between the price of the target welfare vehicle and the price of the standard vehicle that is the basis of the welfare vehicle, we will subsidize up to 200,000 yen for tax-exempt households and 180,000 yen for taxable households.

Please apply at the Health and Welfare Center window with your personal organizer, driver's license and required documents.

Within one year from the date of purchase of the welfare vehicle or the completion of the remodeling.
