Subsidize up to 200,000 yen for remodeling the steering wheel, brakes, accelerator, transfer equipment, wheelchair storage equipment, etc. of vehicles, small cars and light motor vehicles (purchase welfare vehicles already equipped with necessary equipment) ).

[Target persons]
Persons with disabilities who fall under any of the following (1) to (3)
①Those who have been issued a certificate of the physically handicapped for upper limbs, lower limbs, and trunk dysfunction of grades 1-3 and need to modify a part of the car owned by the same household and drive by themselves (driver's license May be required to provide limited conditions.)
②Those who live in Yokohama City at the time of remodeling completion and application.
③The income amount of the previous year of the highest income earner in the household is within the income limit of the special disability allowance (please contact us for details.)

[Required for Application] Application within one year after completion (purchase) of car remodeling

• Application Form (PDF: 81KB)
• Copy of certificate of the physically disabled
• Any receipt, invoice, delivery note, or order form that shows the details of the remodeling (purchase) content and price ※Quotation is not allowed.
• Copy of automobile inspection certificate (vehicle inspection certificate) ※In the case of an automobile inspection certificate issued after January 2023, a copy of the "Automobile Inspection Certificate Record Items" printed on the paper issued at the same time as the original.
• Copy of driver's license ※In the case of modification of the steering / drive device, a license with limited license conditions is required.
• (In the case of purchasing a welfare vehicle) Quotation, etc. that describes the vehicle body price of the standard specification that is the basis of the purchased welfare vehicle
• (In the case of purchasing a used welfare vehicle) Estimates, etc. that describes the vehicle price of the purchased used welfare vehicle

※If you are moving out of the city, you may need documents to prove your income for all households.

Subsidies are provided for the cost of installing transfer equipment and wheelchair storage devices to vehicles, small cars and light motor vehicles, which are mainly used for the movement of persons with disabilities, up to 200,000 yen (welfare vehicles already equipped with necessary equipment).

[Target persons] The applicant must be a caregiver.
Those who fall under any of the following 1 to 3
①Those who have a certificate of disability with lower limb or trunk dysfunction who cannot drive by themselves (excluding those aged 65 or older who have obtained the certificate) and those in same household, Those who need to modify a part of the car used to move.
②Those who live in Yokohama City at the time of remodeling completion and application.

※[Target Vehicles] Vehicles owned and operated by the same household (vehicles, Small Cars and light motor vehicles as defined in the Road Transport Vehicle Law).

• Those that are recorded as "private use" in "use" such as automobile inspection certificates are eligible. (Capacity of 10 or less) "Business use" is not eligible.
• Those that are recorded as "for cargo" in "use" such as automobile inspection certificates are not passenger and are not eligible. (If there is no partition between the boarding equipment and the carrier and it is deemed to be passenger, it may be eligible.)
• If a car in the name of a corporation is purchased under an installment purchase contract, etc., the name of yourself or same household listed in the "User Name or Name" column of the automobile inspection certificate are eligible.

※To reapply, it is necessary that 5 years have passed since the previous application date. (However, it may be possible to re-apply within 5 years due to changes in disability conditions.)
