Symptoms are prolonged after COVID-19 infection. Do you have any support or medical expenses subsidy programs?

Yokohama City does not provide a subsidy program for medical expenses for symptoms after illness.
However, there are some public systems when social life is severely restricted due to symptoms after illness, so I will introduce them with reference to them.

If you are infected with COVID-19 due to your business and have sequelae, you will be eligible for Workmen's Accident Compensation Insurance benefits. Please consult with the Labor Standards Inspection Office, which has jurisdiction over your workplace for billing procedures.

If you are unable to work due to medical treatment due to non-work reasons, insured persons under the health insurance system may be paid a sickness and illness allowance from each insurer if they meet the requirements. Please consult with your health insurance union, etc. for the procedure for applying for payment.

In cases where daily life such as life and work is severely restricted due to sequelae, or if there is a degree of disability that requires significant restrictions on daily life, it may be subject to disability pension if certain requirements are met. (However, please note that Workmen's Accident Compensation Insurance benefits and sickness allowances may be reduced or suspended.)

If a certain level of disability exists due to sequelae and it is recognized that it will last, it may be possible to obtain a certificate of the physically disabled. Please contact your local Health and Welfare Center for details and procedures.

If it is recognized that you are in a certain degree of mental illness due to sequelae, you may be able to obtain a Mental Handicapped Health and Welfare Handbook. Mental illness is comprehensively judged from both the condition and the condition of disability.
