With the revision of the salary table of general staff in November 2022, the council decided from the mayor based on the provisions of Article 2-2 of the Yokohama City Special Staff Remuneration Council Ordinance, Article 2-2. Opinions were asked about the amount of member of the Diet remuneration and the amount of salary of the mayor and deputy mayor (hereinafter referred to as "the amount of member of the Diet remuneration").
In response to this, the Council exchanged various opinions on the level of parliamentary remuneration.
Based on the fact that the cumulative salary revision rate for general employees since FY2011 (hereinafter referred to as the “cumulative revision rate”) was + 0.25%. The following opinions were given.

While it is true that prices are rising and wages in the private sector, it is also true that there are many establishments in small and medium-sized enterprises that have difficulty raising wages. Considering such a situation, taking into account the fact that the cumulative revision amount is not so large, it is considered deferred.
・This salary revision of general staff is intended for young people, and special jobs such as the mayor do not correspond to young people, so we will leave it unchanged.
・It has been reported that the average annual income in Japan has not risen for 30 years and that the salary is lower than in other countries. Among them, there is a desire to raise the momentum of wage increase, but when hearing the opinions of other committee members, I think that it is unavoidable to leave this time unchanged.
・In view of the past cumulative revision rate, isn't it unchanged?

The Council, taking into account these opinions comprehensively, and concluded that the amount of remuneration for members of the Diet should be "leave unchanged".
