Both cargo volumes handled, container cargo volume and volume increased year on year.
Regarding the ports of Yokohama Port in the first half of 2021, although the effects of the prolonged spread of COVID-19, cargo volume handled by foreign trade increased 11.4% year-on-year, down 6.2% from the same period of the previous year, and is approaching the pre-COVID freight volume before the pandemic.
Exports of finished vehicles and automotive parts, which are the main cultivars of exports, also increased year-on-year and are driving the recovery.
