Yokohama Port Statistics Bulletin for 2021 has been finalized.

Both cargo volume handled, container handling volume, and automobile-related cargo volume were higher than the previous year.

As the spread of COVID-19 continues to prolong, cargo volume handled in 2021 was 104.8 million tons, up 11.9% year-on-year, and the number of containers handled was 2.86 million units, up 7.5% year-on-year, both of which are close to pre-pandemic levels.
Automotive-related cargo volume was 19.92 million tons, an increase of 25.8% from the previous year, which is approaching before the COVID-19 pandemic and is driving a recovery.
