During the summer vacation of Reiwa 3 (2021), the Yokohama Institute of Environmental Science conducted a survey of elementary school studenｔ at 341 schools in Yokohama Municipal Elementary Schools to report on creatures found near homes and schools. We are pleased to announce the results of responses from 167 schools and 11,037 students from elementary school studenｔ.
We were able to obtain valuable information that will contribute to the conservation biodiversity in the future, including the possibility that the relationship between elementary school studenｔ and living creatures has decreased due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fact that sparrows, which are declining nationwide, and the fact that Aosji Ageha, a southern butterfly, have been confirmed in coastal urban areas east of the city.
