In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and realize a decarbonized society by 2050, next-generation solar cells such as perovskite solar cells and integrated building materials are expected to be introduced.
In urban areas such as Yokohama City, where suitable locations for photovoltaic power generation are limited, in order to further expand the spread of renewable energy, we solicited proposals for next-generation solar cell demonstration experiments utilizing public facilities, and selected three companies and four proposals.
As the second demonstration experiment, "Demonstration experiment of next-generation solar cells that can be mounted on existing windows" will be started at the Yokohama City Hall atrium from December 4, 2024 (Wednesday). This battery is expected to promote the introduction of renewable energy in existing buildings as solar cells that can be installed on window surfaces (vertical surfaces) without the construction of existing windows and buildings itself.
