Yokohama City has set a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by FY2030 compared to FY2013 with the aim of realizing "Zero Carbon Yokohama" in 2050, and is working with citizens and businesses to create a new sustainable city model.
Since fiscal 2022, in order to reduce CO2 emissions from the household sector, which accounts for approximately 30% of the city's CO2 emissions, we have been promoting the “Yokohama Decarbonization experimental project,” which uses renewable energy, etc.
Recently, in order to further reduce greenhouse gas emissions, local residents are actively engaged in decarbonization activities and solicit community development proposals to raise awareness of decarbonization throughout the district.
For selected projects, a maximum of 5 million yen per year will be subsidized for three years.
