We start "bottle to bottle" horizontal recycling of plastic bottles in Minato Mirai 21 district!

　In April 2022, the Minato Mirai 21 District was selected by the Ministry of the Environment as a “decarbonized pre-decarbonized area” through a joint proposal between Yokohama City and Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 (hereinafter referred to as “YMM”), and is promoting various initiatives related to decarbonization.
　For about one month from late January 2024, we have been working on a demonstration experiment of horizontal recycling of "bottle-to-bottle" in which used PET bottles are recycled into new PET bottles, and we have been studying ways to promote resource recycling in this area where many people gather.
　For full-scale operation of the business, YMM has solicited business operators and has decided to carry out horizontal recycling of bottle-to-bottles with a corporate group including Suntory Holdings Co., Ltd. 23 facilities, such as the Minato Mirai 21 district, will be united in the area, and "bottle-to-bottle" horizontal recycling will start on January 29 (Wednesday). Through this business, we will work to recycle more than 150 tons of used PET bottles annually.
