Interview

State at the time of rehearsal It was impressive that the co-star Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra members applauded each other after the performance.

-I think you made a great effort to go to the Faculty of Law at university while studying music, but what did you think?
I had a hard time managing the time, but it was more refreshing and fun to do various things in parallel rather than focusing on one thing, I was interested in various things and it was fun.

-You have also received the Yokohama Cultural Award Culture and Arts Encouragement Award. What kind of place is Yokohama for Oe?
It's my favorite city. I came to Tsunashima in Yokohama from Sendai, but Yokohama had an image of an urban area than Sendai, so I was hoping that a completely different world would be spreading. I spent five years, but all the things I met and people were all new and exciting.
In addition to urban areas, there were many elements that could be relieved to come from Sendai, such as nature and shopping streets nearby, and the sea is close.
The journey from Tsunashima to Hiyoshi, where the university is located, is the place of memories. It is also impressive that there was a peach field in Tsunashima.

-You have been performing since the first time of the 18th ward concert that started in 2016. Is there anything you are looking forward to?
I'm looking forward to the project every time.

-Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I think there are many difficulties not only in this concert but also in various aspects, but how are you preparing for it?
I always consider physical condition management carefully, but I have come to be more concerned than ever. And as to whether or not the concert would be held safely, my thoughts on each concert increased.
Also, in order to hold the event in such a situation, the work of the people behind the scenes will increase, so I have become even more grateful for being able to perform a concert.

-Classics tend to be difficult for people who are not familiar with classical music, but do you have any advice on where to listen to and points to listen to for those who want to challenge in the future?
Going to a venue that you have never been to is a high hurdle, but the 18th ward concert is held at familiar facilities, so it is recommended because it is easy to go.
It's fun to listen to it for the first time in production without giving any information in advance, and it's fun to go after preparing, but the recommendation is to listen once and think about the story that the writer of the song wants to convey before going.
Thinking about the story makes it easier for you to get into the song. Also, since the way of perceive the story changes depending on the player, for example, when you are crying as a setting on the story, you can enjoy the difference in changing expressions, whether you are crying loudly or unbearable.
Each person has to enjoy it, so please feel free to enjoy it in your city.
