May issue Let's Think about Biodiversity Creature Search Report

Although Yokohama is a big city, it has a variety of nature, such as forests and waterfronts, in places close to civil life. What kind of creatures are there in these places? This time, I visited Maioka Park in Totsuka Ward and explored creatures under the guidance of a Environmental Planning Bureau representative.

Last Updated May 1, 2022

The first thing I encountered was several kinds of birds.
He welcomed us with a light voice as if expressing the joy of spring.

As I progressed, I met a number of plants, insects, and wild birds.
Literally, I met a new creature every few steps, and even though I usually spend my time casually, I realized that I was actually passing by many creatures.

In addition, I met so many creatures that I couldn't introduce here, and I was once again surprised at the richness of biodiversity at Maioka Park.

In addition, along the waterside "Maiokacho Ogawa Amenity" that runs through the countryside from Maioka Park to Maioka Station on the municipal subway, I was able to see different creatures again.

The rich waterside environment has been a place for many creatures as well as people.

This time, we explored creatures in an environment where rich greenery is left, but not only in such an environment, many creatures live in the city where we live, and are connected to our lives .

I asked the person in charge of Environmental Planning Bureau.
"Biodiversity is a word that is difficult to hear, but we support our lives in the form of 'bounty of nature', such as ingredients, clothes, and raw materials for medicine. If you have creatures, you can continue to benefit from these benefits. First of all, I want you to realize that the environment where creatures live is close. I'm glad if Twitter "#Yokohama Kimonogatari" (outside site) becomes the entrance. "
That's right.

Through this exploration, I realized once again that many creatures live, from rich nature to the city where we live.
I would like to think about what we can do to connect this "biodiversity" to the future.
