May issue Let's Think About Biodiversity Search Report

Yokohama is a big city, but there are a variety of nature, such as woodlands and waterfronts in places close to civil life. What kind of creatures are there in such places? This time, I visited "Maioka Park" in Totsuka Ward, and explored creatures under the guidance of Environmental Planning Bureau.

Last Updated May 1, 2022

The first thing I encountered was a few kinds of birds.
He greeted us with a light voice as if expressing the joy of spring.

As I walked on, I met many plants, insects, and wild birds.
Literally, there was a encounter with a new creature in "everal steps", and I realized that I was actually passing by many creatures even though I was casually spending time.

In addition, I met so many creatures that I could not introduce here, and I was once again surprised at the richness of the biodiversity of Maioka Park.

In addition, along the waterside "Maiokacho Ogawa Amenity", which runs through the countryside from Maioka Park and leads to Maioka Station on the municipal subway, we could see different creatures again.

The rich waterside environment was a place of relaxation for not only people but also for many creatures.

This time, we searched for creatures in an environment where rich greenery was left, but not only in such an environment, but also many creatures inhabit the city where we live, and are connected to our lives .

I asked the person in charge of Environmental Planning Bureau.
"Biodiversity" is an unfamiliar word, but we support our lives in the form of" nature's blessings ", such as ingredients, clothing, and raw materials for medicine. With creatures, you can continue to benefit from these benefits. First of all, I want you to be aware that the environment in which creatures live is close. I'm glad if Twitter "#Yokohama Ikimonogatari" (outside site) is the entrance. "
That's right.

After this exploration, I realized once again that many creatures live, from the rich nature to the city where we live.
I would like to think about what we can do to connect this "biodiversity" into the future.
