Industrial water supply is a water supply that supplies industrial use, such as cooling water, boiler water, product treatment water, and cleaning water, and is the cornerstone of supporting the industry of Yokohama. Since the water source of industrial water uses water from dam lakes in Sagamiko and Tsukui Lake, it contributes greatly to the environment, such as preventing land subsidence caused by excessive pumping of groundwater in factory areas.
In addition, water can be supplied as an economical water supply because it does not perform chemical treatment or filtration treatment like water supply, but basically only sinks raw water, so water can be supplied as an economic water supply.
The industrial water supply in Yokohama City was established in October 1960 (1960) with a water supply capacity of 117,000 cubic meters per day (Sagamiko system) as a measure against land subsidence by pumping groundwater in the Keihin Industrial Zone, and Tsurumi / Kanagawa And water supply has started to the Hodogaya and west districts.
After that, two expansion work (Banyu River system) was carried out, and the water supply area was expanded to the industrial area of the Inland Tozuka and the coastal area of Negishi Bay, and with a water supply capacity of 362,000 cubic meters per day, Yokohama during the period of high economic growth Has supported the industry.
Since the oil crisis in 1973, demand has been declining gradually due to the relocation and abolition of factories due to changes in the industrial structure and rationalization of water use at water receiving plants. However, in recent years, new demand for wholesale power generation business and electricity business accompanying new town development such as the district, new demand for wholesale power generation business water, etc. has also been actively contributing to the creation of a new foundation for the Yokohama economy as a core business core city in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
The industrial water supply facility in Yokohama City consists of two systems (water sources), the Sagamiko system, which uses Sagamiko as its water source, and the Banyu River system, which uses Lake Tsukui.
The Sagamiko system facility is a system that started supplying water on October 10, 1960 for the purpose of countermeasures against land subsidence in the Keihin Industrial Zone.
The water source is Sagamiko (Sagami Dam) from the water intake under the dam (Numamoto Dam) to the Tsurugamine Sinking Pond in Asahi Ward, water is then supplied to the Tsurumi and Kanagawa districts via part of the Asahi Ward and the Higashiterao Reservoir in Tsurumi Ward.
In addition, we supply water treated at Nishiya water purification plant to Hodogaya and west districts.

The Banyu River system facility is a system that started water supply on September 1, 1965 as a foundation for the inland Tozuka and the coastal area of Negishi Bay by the first expansion project.
The water source is Lake Tsukui (Shiroyama Dam), which draws water from the Samukawa Water Intake River located downstream of the Sagami River (Banyu River), and then started water supplying water to Kosuzume Purifiction Plant, which is the co-operated facility of Yokohama City Water Supply, Yokosuka City Water Supply, and Yokohama City's industrial water supply facilities in Kosuzume Purifiction Plant, and the Tozuka and Eiko districts in 1969.
