Mr. Kajimura attended a ceremony to celebrate the return of Kasagi, Hachinohe City
Last Updated August 14, 2018
On Thursday, October 1, a ceremony was held in Yokohama Bayquarter to celebrate the return of Kasagi, Hachinohe City, where Mr. Kajimura attended and thanked the people concerned for their efforts. The ceremony was also attended by the U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline Boubier Kennedy.
This Kasagi was located at the top of the torii gate of a shrine in Hachinohe, washed away by the tsunami of the Great East Japan Earthquake and drifted along the Oregon coast of the United States of America in 2013. During this time, it was stored in the Portland Japanese Garden, but after coordination with the parties concerned, it was decided to be returned to Hachinohe via Yokohama Port.
