Last update date February 22, 2023

Why do you need oral health?

"Tooths" are indispensable for maintaining physical health and eating deliciously.
The main causes of tooth loss are tooth decay and periodontal disease. In particular, periodontal disease has increased from around the age of 40, and it is said that more than 80% of middle-aged and older people have periodontal disease.
Periodontal disease affects not only oral problems, but also general health. Because it is said to be related to lifestyle-related diseases, such as arteriosclerosis, heart disease and diabetes, it is important to review lifestyle habits such as diet, exercise, smoking, and stress.
To keep your teeth healthy, be sure to brush your teeth after meals and get health check-up regularly.

What is periodontal disease?
Periodontal disease is a disease in which plaque (a mass of bacteria) causes inflammation and periodontal tissues such as the gingival and the bones supporting the teeth (alveolar bone). There are no subjective symptoms. If you leave it alone, your teeth will be glazed and fall off.

Do you know the 8020 movement?
It is said that at least 20 teeth are needed to eat anything deliciously.
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is promoting the 8020 Movement, which aims to keep more than 20 teeth even when they reach the age of 80.

Do you know chewing 30 (Kamigung Sanmaru)?
"Cheming 30" recommends chewing at least 30 times per mouth. Chewing and eating well makes it easier to digest and absorb as nutrients, stimulates saliva secretion and protects teeth. You can also enjoy the meal using the five senses, such as the taste and chewy texture of the ingredients.
