Health promotion-related organizations

In cooperation with the Nishi Ward Office, the following organizations are engaged in community health promotion activities. I would like to introduce some of these activities.

1. Nishi Ward Dietary Improvement Promotion Members
2. Nishi Ward Food Education Promotion Council
3. Nishi Ward Health Promotion Committee

This is a volunteer group for health promotion through food. Under the slogan "Our health is our hands," we are promoting health promotion activities through food and exercise in the community. There are about 1,200 people in Yokohama City and about 97,000 friends nationwide.
Nishi Ward Healthmate celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2024. Fujidana, Nishi-Tobe, Asamadai, Sengencho and Miyagaya.

• Public health promotion and dissemination activities (cooking demonstrations, lectures, etc.)
• Cooking course for men

• Hama's Walking Festival (distribution of soup powder)
• Conducted monthly workshops, lectures, tours of facilities, etc.

When you attend a training course for members of the improvement promotion of eating habits held at the ward office, you will be issued a certificate of completion and registered as a healthmate.
Why don't you learn about health promotion for yourself and your family and become a member of a healthmate and participate in community activities?
I think there are many new friends and I think there are many things that can be obtained through activities.

Established in 2009 for the purpose of promoting food education in Nishi Ward, it is composed of 29 groups (PDF: 72KB), including nursery schools, kindergartens, elementary and junior high schools, and local volunteer groups in the city.
We perform food education enlightenment enlightenment to inhabitants of a ward, information exchange of health promotion.

It is a "promotion officer of local health promotion activity" commissioned by the mayor in response to the recommendation of the Neighborhood Association / Neighborhood Association, and is a volunteer who supports local people so that they can work on health promotion happily.
In cooperation with the ward office, we conduct health promotion activities such as walking and health checks in the community.
Why don't you become a health activity promotion member?

• Walking in the area
• Awareness-raising activities on tobacco harm (e.g., activities to prevent passive smoking around Yokohama Station, etc.)
• Physical fitness measurement meeting
• Support for mothers raising children
• Holding gymnastics classes

Once a year (from autumn to winter), we publish a newsletter about the activities of health promotion staff and distribute it to facilities in Nishi Ward. Check it out! (It is posted in PDF)
