What is the Water Source Eco Project W-eco-p (Wi-Cop)?

Purpose

The “Water Source Eco Project W-eco P” is an initiative to develop a water source forest owned by the City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau (Water Works Bureau) in Yamanashi Prefecture, which is owned by companies and organizations, to foster rich forests that create clean water and pass them on to the next generation.

Overview

  • Donations
    In principle, the amount based on the agreement will be donated to Water Works Bureau on a basis of 300,000 yen per hectare per year (3 hectares or more for three years). Donations will be used for part of the cost of water source forest maintenance (thinning).
  • Improvement of water source forests
    We will carry out conservation work in watershed forests using donations paid by companies and organizations.
  • Activities
    During the agreement period, we will publicize the names and activities of companies and organizations through public relations media (websites, leaflets, etc.) and events (water supply week events, etc.) in Water Works Bureau.
    Companies and organizations can use it to promote and promote SDGs activities, such as experiencing activities at the water source forest conservation.

  • Improvement of water source forests → 15 Let's protect the richness of land
  • Collaboration with participating companies and organizations → 17 Let's achieve our goals through partnership

Signboards with the names of companies and organizations have been installed at Roadside Station and Nisatozuka Pocket Park in Michishi Village.
