Renewal of the first-class animal handling business

Type 1 animal handling business must be renewed every five years.
The renewal procedure is possible two months before the registration expiration date.
Please apply for renewal at Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division, where the office is located.

If there is no change in the applicant's Address, name, facility, or industry.

Prepare the following documents and apply for renewal at the Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division, where the office is located.

1  Type 1 Animal Handling Business Registration Renewal Application Form (Form No. 4) (PDF: 218KB)
  One copy of each business type is required for each industry.
  Please fill in the form referring to "Remarks" on the back of the application form.
  "Sales" and "rental" also require a first-class animal handling business implementation method (Form No. 1 separate paragraph) (PDF: 134KB)
  When handling dogs and cats by "sale", a health and safety plan for dogs and cats (Form No. 1 Annex 2) (PDF: 70KB) is also required.
2 Documents indicating that the land and buildings of business establishments and breeding facilities have the title necessary for the implementation of the project
(Attachment is required from June 1, 2020.) For details, please refer to "Documents showing that you have the right title necessary for the implementation of the business for land and buildings of establishments and breeding facilities" in "About registration, change, and closing of business of first-class animal handling business". ) 
3  Documents showing that the applicant, animal handling manager, employees, and corporate officers do not fall under Article 12, Paragraph 1, Items 1 to 7-2 of the Act (Reference Form No. 1) (PDF: 158KB)
4 One face photo of the animal handling manager (3 cm long x 2.5 cm wide)
5 Class 1 Animal Handling Business Registration Certificate (currently issued)
6 Animal Handling Officer's Certificate (currently issued)
7 Renewal fee: 10,000 yen per industry
 ※Businesses that breed or store dogs or cats that perform renewal procedures for the first time since June 1, 2021 will need a floor plan and elevation showing the scale of cages.

There may be additional documents to be submitted or new registration may be required.
If there are any changes, please consult with Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division, where the office is located in advance.
