Revision of the rules for cutting cross-border branches

The rules for cross-border bamboo trees have been revised!
Due to the revision of the Civil Code on April 1, 2023, the owners of cross-border land will maintain the principle that the owners of bamboo trees need to cut off branches, and in any of the following cases, You can now cut out the branches yourself (Article 233, Paragraph 3, Items 1 to 3 after the revision of the Civil Code).
In addition, if bamboo trees are common, co-owners can now cut off cross-border branches. (Article 233, Paragraph 2 of the revised Civil Code)
- When the owner of the bamboo tree was notified to remove the cross-border branches, but the owner of the bamboo tree did not remove them within a considerable period of time.
- When the owner of Takeki cannot be known, or its location cannot be known.
- When there is an urgent situation

Q5 Can I charge the owner for the cost of cutting?
