Goals of District Planning As part of the Minato Mirai 21 plan, this area will be developed as a new urban center area connected to the east exit of Yokohama Station. In order to renew non-city center functions such as factories and warehouses, and to form a new urban center suitable for location conditions, we will develop urban infrastructure such as roads and parks, and urban housing, business, commerce, services, and cultural functions. And so on.
Therefore, the purpose of this district plan is to properly guide public works and private development projects and to plan planned urban area formation in accordance with the following basic policies.
  1. Introduction of urban housing to meet diverse needs
  2. Promotion of complex land use to create a lively and attractive city.
  3. Formation of safe and comfortable pedestrian spaces
  4. Creation of a unique urban landscape that makes use of the waterfront

Basic Policy on Land Use On the west side of the city planning road No. 3.1.7 Sakaehonmachi Line (hereinafter referred to as the “Sakaehonmachi Line”), taking advantage of the location characteristics near the station to accumulate commerce, business, service, accommodation functions, etc., and promote advanced use of land. Plan and maintain as a lively city center. For this reason, the upper limit of the floor area ratio of houses will be 200% on the entire west side of the Sakaehonmachi Line.
On the east side of the Sakaehonmachi Line, we plan to use complex land where houses coexist with commerce, business, service, accommodation functions, etc. coexist, and create a comfortable urban space full of water and greenery by improving waterfront parks and pedestrian spaces. .
In addition, we will actively promote the location of cultural and artistic facilities and related facilities and facilities attached to them in line with the theme of urban development, "City of Art & Design".
Policy for maintenance of public facilities The Sakaehonmachi Line will be maintained to ensure the city center function integrated with the Minato Mirai 21 area.
