Those who can use it

Those who have been registered in Yokohama City Library's "Service for those who have difficulty reading in print materials"
If you meet the following two conditions, you can register for use.
(1) Living, working or studying in Yokohama City
(2) Visual impairment, reading and writing disabilities, difficulty in turning a book page due to impaired arms and hands, etc.

How to use and application

Please register for use in Yokohama City Library's "Service for those who have difficulty reading with type materials".

1-2 Large print books, LL book

Those who can use it

Anyone can view it inside the building.

How to use and application

If you have a library card, you can borrow it.
For more information, please contact each library.
※If you have a physical or mental disability and have difficulty visiting the library and meet the conditions, you can register for the "Book and Magazine Delivery and Lending Service".

1-3 cloth picture books and touch picture books

Anyone can view it in the museum.

This is a digital library that allows you to download more than 300,000 titles on the Internet.

How to use and application:

After registering for "Services for those who have difficulty reading with print materials", please apply directly from the "Sapier Library Member Registration Page (External Site)".

Data transmission service for people with visual impairments

More than 30,000 titles can be downloaded over the Internet.

Those who have difficulty reading, such as visual impairment, physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, and learning disabilities

2-2 E-books and audiobooks

Yokohama City Library e-book service

Those who can use it

Those who live in Yokohama, commute to school, and have a valid user number of Yokohama City Library.
Alternatively, those who have registered for "Service for those who have difficulty reading with print materials" or "Books and Magazine Delivery Lending Service".
※It cannot be used with wide-area user numbers starting with 909.

How to use and application
Loans

Up to 2 points for 2 weeks. If no reservation is made, the loan period can be extended only once.

Reservation

Up to 2 points. (We do not accept requests for e-books without holdings.)

How to search for materials, etc.
  • E-books for reading out

Please access Yokohama City Library e-book service (text version site) (external site).
"Search only materials that support reading out" is selected in advance.


  • Audiobook

Select "12 Audio Book" in the genre list from the "Search by Genre" menu of Yokohama City Library e-book service (text version site) (external site).
