Those who can use it

Those who have been registered in Yokohama City Library's "Service for those who have difficulty reading with printed materials"
If you meet the following two conditions, you can register for use.
(1) Living, working or studying in Yokohama City
(2) Visual impairment, impairment of reading and writing, difficulty in turning a book page due to impairment of arms or hands, etc.

How to use and application

Please register for use in "Service for those who have difficulty reading with printed materials" in Yokohama City Library.

1-2 Large print book, LL book

Those who can use it

Anyone can browse inside the museum.

How to use and application

If you have a library card, you can borrow it.
Please contact each library for details such as holding information.
※If you have physical or mental disabilities and have difficulty visiting the library and meet the conditions, you can register for use in the "Book and Magazine Delivery Lending Service".

1-3 Cloth picture book / touching picture book

Those who can use it

Anyone can browse inside the museum.

2 Use on the Internet

Sapier Library

This is an electronic library that allows you to download over 300,000 titles on the Internet.

Those who have registered for "Services for those who have difficulty reading with printed materials" in Yokohama City Library

How to use and application:

After registering for "Services for those who have difficulty reading with print materials", please apply directly from "Sapier Library Member Registration Page (outside site)".

Data transmission service for people with visual impairments of the National Diet Library

More than 30,000 titles can be downloaded over the Internet.

Those who can use it

Those who have difficulty reading, such as visual impairment, physical disability, developmental disability, learning disability, etc.

2-2 e-books and audiobooks that support reading.

Yokohama City Library e-book service

Those who can use it

Those who live in Yokohama, commute to school, and have a valid user number for Yokohama City Library.
Or, those who have registered for "Services for those who have difficulty reading with type materials" or "Books and Magazine Delivery Lending Service".
※It cannot be used with a user number for wide area use starting with 909.

How to use and application
Lending

Up to 2 points for 2 weeks. If you do not have a reservation, you can extend the loan period only once.

Reservation

Up to 2 points. (We do not accept requests for e-books that do not have a collection.)

How to search materials, etc.
  • E-books for reading aloud

Please access Yokohama City Library e-book service (text version site) (outside site).
"Search only materials that support reading" has been selected in advance.


  • Audiobook

Select "12 Audio Books" in the list of genres from the "Search by genre" menu of Yokohama City Library e-book service (text version site) (external site).
