Information on changes in registration of directors following the revision of the Act on Promotion of Specified Non-Profit Activities in 2012

In June 2011, with the aim of further supporting the activities of non-profit organizations (NPOs) and strengthening the establishment of a financial base, the Act on Promotion of Specified Non-Profit Activities (NPO Law) was revised and came into effect on April 1, 2012. .

Along with that, a part of the registration order for unions, etc. is amended in accordance with Article 2 of the Supplementary Provisions of the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Act on Promotion of Specified Non-Profit Activities, and if the Articles of Incorporation stipulate that a specific director (such as the president) has representation rights, Only the specific director is registered.

The Articles of Incorporation currently in use restricts the right of representation of directors (e.g., "The President represents this corporation and primes its business." If there is such a description, it is necessary to change the entry at the relevant Legal Affairs Bureau (Yokohama Legal Affaires Bureau) within six months from April 1, 2012.

Conventional registration

All directors are registered even if the Articles of Incorporation stipulate that a specific director (such as the president) has representation rights.

Registration from April 1, 2012

If the Articles of Incorporation stipulate that a specific director (such as the president) has representation rights, only that specific director is registered.
