[Effective June 2021] Information accompanying the revision of the Act on Promotion of Specified Non-Profit Activities

On December 2, 2020, the Act on Partial Revision of the Act on Promotion of Specified Non-Profit Activities (Act No. 72 of 2020) was enacted and promulgated on December 9, 2021, and came into effect on June 9, 2021.

Points of Changes due to the revision of the NPO Law

Matters concerning all NPO corporations

  • The inspection period at the time of certification application is shortened from one month to two weeks, and the announcement of the application changes from the Yokohama City Bulletin to the Yokohama City homepage.
  • Address is not subject to publication of the list of officers at the time of viewing and copying carried out in Yokohama.

※Masking (black painting of Address) will be performed in Yokohama City, so when submitting a list of officers, etc., please write Address as before.

  • seal of corporate seals for various forms submitted to Yokohama City is in principle unnecessary.

※There are some documents that will continue in seal.

Matters related to certification, special certification, and designated corporations

  • It is not necessary to submit documents stating "Matters related to business fees, conditions, and other details of business related to the transfer of assets."

※These documents should be prepared and submitted for fiscal years beginning on or after June 9, 2021.

  • If there is no change in the "Executive Remuneration Regulations" and "Employee Salary Regulations" and "Employee Salary Regulations" can be omitted.

※Since Yokohama City has already taken the same response, there will be no change in the response due to this law revision.

※It is mandatory to submit documents describing the status of remuneration, etc. for officers.
