Course Overview

The Yokohama Triennale is an international exhibition of contemporary art that has been held every three years since 2001. Lecturers who have been intermittently involved in exhibition planning since the second 2005 exhibition and have seen various international exhibitions and art festivals in Japan and abroad, will introduce the features of the Yokohama Triennale.


He will also discuss the process of making preparations for the next Yokohama Triennale, as well as international exhibitions and art festivals, as well as the social role of the exhibitions that have changed with the times, and how they are preparing for the next Yokohama Triennale.

In addition to planning exhibitions of contemporary art and photography, he also contributes to domestic and international magazines. He has been involved in the Yokohama Triennale since the 2005 exhibition. Major exhibitions in recent years include “HANRAN: 20th-Century Japanese Photography (National Gallery of Canada, 2019), "Portrait of Showa: People and History of Showa" (2017), "BODY/PLAY/POLITICS" (2016), "Tsai Guo Guiang: Returning" (2015), "Yoshitomo Nara: A little similar to you and me" (2012) In addition, Guest Curator for Guest Curator (2008, Taipei) and Busan Sea Art Festival Commissioner (2011).
