Information on registration, renewal, and change procedures online

You can apply for user registration, registration renewal, and change of registration information online.
If you would like to apply, please read the following explanation and proceed to the contents you want to proceed.
Please refer to the usage guide (registration page) for procedures for registration, renewal, and change at the counter.
If the validity period of the user number (library card number) has expired, you will not be able to apply online. Please apply for renewal at the counter.

Application (Notes)

It will take some time from application to registration. (Approximately 3 days after application)

When registration is completed, you will be notified of your user number (library card number) by e-mail.
It may take more time depending on the content of the application or the status of the application. Thank you for your understanding.
If you are in a hurry or would like to issue a plastic library card, please go to the library window.
Only prior application can be made online, and "temporary registration application" to be filed at the counter can be issued on the same day.

To confirm your application details, we may contact the e-mail address registered at the time of application or the Phone number.

We will send the following information to the registered address in the future. Only those who wish. You can change it in the My Library.
 I would like to inform you that the reservation materials have been prepared.
 We will notify you when the expiration date of the user number (library card number) is near.
 We will inform you if the return period of the materials being borrowed has passed.
 You can receive information on new books (you need to register the conditions in "New arrival mail registration" in advance).
We may notify you urgently when the library is suddenly closed due to the spread of infectious diseases, natural disasters, etc.
※If you have anti-spam measures (domain-specified reception, reception permission, etc.)
 Please set so that you can receive e-mails from "yokohama-library@lib.city.yokohama.lg.jp".

※The personal information you have entered will be properly managed in accordance with the "Personal Information Protection Law" and will not be used for any purpose other than library operations.

Documents to be prepared

If you wish to register, update your registration, or change your registration information, you will need a copy of your identity verification document (image data).
※There are four file formats in the attached file: gif, jpg, jpeg, and png, and the file size is within 3MByte per file.
※Currently, we only accept identification documents of the size of My Number Card and driver's license.
※If you exceed the limit of the attached file, you will not be able to apply online.
※For those who wish to register, update, or change at the counter (temporary registration application), it is not necessary to attach identification documents.

attached documents's Precautions

  • If there is an expiration date, it must be within the expiration date.
  • If you live outside Yokohama and commute to Yokohama, you will also need documents (employee ID, student ID, student ID, student handbook, etc.) that can confirm your place of work and school. Business cards cannot be used as confirmation documents.

Notes on the attached file

  • Up to two files can be attached to the application. When attaching my number card, please do not attach the back side (the side where my number is listed).
  • There are four file formats in the attached file: gif, jpg, jpeg, and png, and the file size is within 3MByte per file.
  • If you exceed the limit of the attached file, you will not be able to apply online.
  • The submitted identification documents will be deleted after confirmation.

Create a library card online (application for online registration)

Those who can apply for online registration

Those who live, work, or attend school in Yokohama City

Those who live near Yokohama City (regional use registration) cannot register online. Please apply at the library window.

Wide Area Use (Information)

Those who make a library card for the first time, or those whose user number (library card number) has expired (those who need to register again)

If your user number (library card number) has not expired, you can use it as it is by renewing your registration.

Registration Update (Information)

If the validity period of the user number (library card number) has expired, you will not be able to apply online. Please apply for renewal at the counter.

Points to note when applying

If you have read the following precautions and agree, please proceed to the application page.

A valid email is required to apply.

It is necessary for the URL to send a copy of the identity verification documents (photo data) required for registration, and for notification after registration is completed.

If you apply for online registration, a plastic "library card" will not be issued.

Only the "Digital Library Card" displayed on the smartphone can be used.
(It is displayed by logging in to the online catalog page.)
If you would like to issue a plastic library card, please apply at the library window or by mail.
(If you have a plastic library card, you can use it together with a digital library card.)

On the screen for entering the application form, check "Send electronic" with your identity verification certificate.
If you do not have your identity verification documents attached, you will need to visit the library and register at the counter.

If you agree with the above contents, please click the "Apply" button to proceed to the application page.
※If you do not agree, please apply at the library window or by mail.

Prior application for registration before visiting the museum (temporary registration application)

You can apply for temporary registration in advance online before visiting the library.
In the case of a temporary registration application, it is not necessary to attach identification documents. You can apply at the counter from the day of your application.
On the screen for entering the application form, check "Bring" with your identity verification certificate.
Within 14 days after the application, please bring the "Reception Number" issued after the provisional registration application and the one that can confirm your identity and current address to the library registration counter.

Change registration details (application for change of registration items)

If the registered contents of Address or Phone number are changed, some changes can be made online. A copy of the user number (library card number) and identification documents (photo data) must be attached.
User number (library card number) can continue to be used.
Transfers outside the city, expiration of employment / enrollment qualifications, change of name, etc. cannot be processed online. Please contact us by phone or apply at the counter.

If you would like to make an online change, please be sure to attach your identity verification document.

If you do not have your identity verification documents attached, you will need to visit the library and register at the counter.

To change your email address or password, please use My Library.

Renew the registration

Registration renewal will be possible three months before the expiration date. You can check the expiration date from My Page.
※If the expiration date has passed, you will not be able to apply online. Please complete the procedures at the counter.

1.How to apply from My Library (My Page on the online catalog page)

When you log in to the My Library, you will be notified during the registration renewal period.

2.How to apply by e-mail before the expiration date

If you have registered your e-mail address, we will send you an e-mail notifying you before the expiration date.
You can apply from the URL described in the email.
