New registration/registered by mail

Those who live in Yokohama and have the same Address listed in resident certificate and currently live in Address.
※We will replace your identity verification by returning it to the Address listed on resident certificate.
※If you do not meet this requirement, please register at the City Library window or online.

1. Please prepare a check sheet (PDF: 232KB) before mailing at hand.
2. Please make a temporary application by telephone to Municipal Central Library (045-262-0050).
3. Please mail the required documents.

※The procedure will take about 10 days after sending it.

Please send the check sheet that you used when making a temporary application over the phone.

3. Original copy of resident certificate

Please prepare the original, non-copyable, and one without personal number (My Number) within 3 months from issuance.
Please note that copies of resident certificate are not returned.
If you have a My Number card, you can get a copy of resident certificate using a multi-copy machine installed at convenience stores nationwide. For more information, please refer to the following link.

4. Return envelope (with 94 yen stamp attached)

Write your name and Address (the same Address as the copy of resident certificate) on a standard envelope and attach a 94 yen stamp.
※If you would like to return it by simple registered mail, please attach a stamp for 444 yen (94 yen + 350 yen).

5. Envelope for transmission (with a 94 yen stamp attached)

Please put all the required documents from 1 to 4 in the envelope for sending, and write “Application for mail registration” in red on the envelope table.
