New registration and renewal of registration by mail

Those who live in Yokohama and have the same Address listed in resident certificate and their current Address.
※We will replace your identity verification by returning it to the Address listed in resident certificate.
※If you do not meet this requirement, please register at the City Library window or online.

1. Please prepare a check sheet (PDF: 232KB) before mailing.
2. Please make a temporary application by telephone to Municipal Central Library (045-262-0050).
3. Please mail required documents.

※The procedure will take about 10 days after sending it.

Please send us the check sheet you used for the temporary application over the phone.

3. Original copy of resident certificate

Please prepare originals within 3 months from issuance, non-copyable, and without personal number (My Number).
Please note that a copy of resident certificate cannot be returned.
If you have a My Number card, you can obtain a copy of resident certificate using a multi-copy machine installed at convenience stores nationwide. For more information, please refer to the following website.

4. Return envelope (with stamp attached)

Please fill in the form envelope with your name and Address (the same Address as the copy of resident certificate) and attach a 94 yen stamp (110 yen stamp if mailed after September 20, 2024).

※If you wish to return it by registered mail, please add an additional 350 yen stamp.

5. Envelope for transmission (with stamp attached)

Please put all required documents items 1 to 4 in an envelope for sending, and write in red on the envelope table "Application for mailing registration".
