Lending and Return Information

Lending (when borrowing books)

  • Up to 10 books per person can be borrowed for 2 weeks (14 opening days).
  • Please bring your library card and books to circulation desk.
  • After the loan procedure, you will receive a receipt with the library card number, the number of the currently borrowed book, and the return deadline.
  • If you forget your library card, you will not be able to borrow books.
  • Seal in the building(inside the building) Please use the books with the label and the latest issue of magazines in the library.

Attention

  • In principle, procedures must be taken by the applicant. If it is not convenient, a family member of living together can perform the procedure. If your family is responsible for the procedure, please show the applicant's user number (library card number).
  • If a person other than the living together family member performs the procedure on your behalf, please bring the following two points in addition to the user number (library card number).
  • The delegated person (applicant) signed by the person (applicant)Power of Attorney (PDF: 99KB) (PDF: 99KB)
  • Documents confirming the proxy/agent user number (library card number) (identified by Address) orproxy/agent's name and address

When reading is not completed even after the return deadline (when applying on the Internet, etc.)

  • If the book does not have a reservation, you can extend the loan only once.
  • If you complete the procedure before the return deadline, the loan period can be extended for two weeks (14 opening days) from that date.
  • If the return deadline has passed, the loan period can be extended only to the number of days calculated by subtracting the excess number of days from 2 weeks (14 opening days).
  • If the opening date is more than 15 days later from the return deadline, the loan cannot be extended.

If you log in from the Internet (online catalog page (external site)), you can complete the procedure 24 hours a day.
You can also apply for it yourself with the search machine for users in the building.
※If you would like to apply at the library window, please bring your library card and the book you want to extend.

Attention

  • Books borrowed from libraries outside the city cannot be extended for lending periods.
  • When using the Internet or in-house user search machine, please register your password in advance using the online catalog page or in-house user search machine.
  • If you apply for an extension on the Internet homepage, it may take a few minutes for it to be reflected in usage. Please check the return deadline after the extension after the extension.
  • If you do not return the borrowed book for a long time, you may not be able to borrow and apply for reservations.

When reading is not completed even after the return deadline (when applying at the library window)

You can "re-lending" (return it once and borrow again). Please bring your library card and the book you want to extend to the counter.

  • Books with reservations will be returned on the spot.
  • Books borrowed from libraries outside the city cannot be re-lended.
  • Please contact us in advance if you have a return deadline. Make sure that the reservation has been made before the return procedure. Even if you have a reservation, you can bring it with you until the return deadline.

Return (when returning books)

  • Please return only books to return counter. Please don't return it directly to the bookshelf.
  • You don't need a library card or receipt.
  • You can return it at any City Library. For more information, please see "Frequently Asked Questions".

  • When the library is closed,book return boxPlease return only books to (book return box is not available during the year-end and New Year holidays). Books returned to book return box will be returned collectively on the morning of the next opening day. Please note that it will remain on loan until it is returned.
  • It can also be returned by mail or courier service (charges will be borne by the user).
