In Motoichi, we start issuance of municipal tax, prefectural tax, forest environmental tax taxation (tax-exempt) certificate of 2024 (income during 2023) as follows.
Please note that the issuance start date differs depending on the payment method of municipal tax, prefectural tax, and forest environmental tax.

What is a taxable (non-taxable) certificate?
The “Municipal Tax / Prefectural Tax / Forest Environmental Tax Exemption (Tax Exemption) Certificate” is calculated based on the income for one year from January 1 to December 31 of each year. Tax amount * ".

How to request a certificate
Online application for tax certification (smartphone application)
Using your smartphone and My Number Card, you can apply for a municipal tax, prefectural tax, and forest environmental tax exemption (tax-exempt) certificate online. The application certificate will be delivered to Address, where resident certificate is located in two days to a week.

Requests by mail
Requests for municipal tax, prefectural tax, forest environmental tax exemption (tax-exempt) certificates can also be accepted by mail. Especially immediately after the start of the issuance of a tax-exempt (tax-exempt) certificate for the new fiscal year (mid-May to mid-June every year), the window is very crowded every year. Please cooperate with the request by mail.
Required documents
- Taxable (tax-exempt) certification application form: Download the form (outside site) and use it.
- Fixed-amount exchange or ordinary exchange for the fee (300 yen per copy) ... Purchase and enclose the required amount of the required amount of money or ordinary exchange at Japan Post Bank (post office savings window). Please do not enter anything in the "Designated Recipient" or "Name" fields. In addition, please cooperate to send items that have an expiration date of one month or more.
- Reply envelope: A stamp attached. Please enclose the taxpayer's Address, etc. and enclose it. If you wish to have express delivery, please indicate so on the reply envelope and attach a considerable stamp.
- If you have changed your name at the place where you moved out of Yokohama City, please enclose a document that shows both your current name and your old name.
- If you moved or moved out of Yokohama City, please enclose a document that shows the relationship between your current address and the former Address.
(Example of enclosed document: copy of driver's license (both sides), my number card (front), copy of resident certificate, etc.)

(Note 1) Power of Attorney (PDF: 170KB) from the taxpayer is required.
(Note 2) Even if you are a relative of living together who makes a living, you need a power of attorney (PDF: 170KB) if you live in a separate household in resident certificate or currently living outside Yokohama City. In addition, in cases where it is difficult to estimate the delegation, a relative of living together whose livelihood is one cannot issue a certificate.
Identity verification documents
Please bring a document that can identify the person coming to the counter.
As a general rule, the following documents with a photo of the person issued by the public office are required.
- My Number Card (Personal Number Card)
- Driver's license
- Passport (passport) or Basic Resident Register card with photo
- Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident Certificate (alien registration certificate)
If you do not have these documents, you may be asked to confirm multiple identification documents, such as your health insurance card or National Pension Plan (Kokumin Nenkin) notebook.

Fees
One case (one copy) 300 yen
Example of fee calculation:
1.600 yen (300 yen x 2 cases) if you obtain one tax certificate in FY2024 and one tax certificate for 2023.
2.900 yen (300 yen x 3 cases) if you need one copy for 2024 tax certificate for yourself and two children.
